LA FIA estudia revolucionar el WRC a partir del 2017 con nuevos coches, más potencia en sus impulsores y liberando las motorizaciones con sistema del flujo de combustible para otorgar el ingreso de los híbridos con Toyota a la cabeza.

Hace algunas horas desde Portugal, el presidente de la comisión de Rallies, Carlos Barbosa ha indica al medio británico Autosport, mediante una entrevista al colega especializado en la materia, David Evans, la iniciativa que está analizando la FIA para obtener un cambio radical en la reglamentación del Rally Mundial.
Con vistas a la temporada 2017 se modificaría el segemento de los coches a utilizar de los actuales B a los más grandes vehículos del sector D, de mayor tamaño en producción. Con una obligación de incrementar la potencia en los motores correspondientes. Cómo también armonizar el sistema libre de los motores bajo el control del flujo de los combustibles a usar por cada marca que se integre a la misma.
Liberando así la firme intención y propuesta que tienen los japoneses de Toyota, quizás Mitsubishi u Subaru se interesen mediante esta nueva regulación.
Que sería aprobada y anunciaba a final de este año para darle tiempo a los constructores que tengan la idea de ingresar al certamen a partir del año 2017.
Cómo se refería barbosa, se movilizarán las charlas para promover firmemente esta idea con el finlandés jarmo Mahonen, Michele Mouton y el mandamás de la Federación Internacional del Automóvilismo, el francés Jean Todt,
Lo que resalta, el veterano directivo portugués, que lo más importante es concretar el regreso de las compañías más jerarquizadas del planeta a la disciplina y obtener otra visión de la categoría, buscando otro horizonte distinto con respecto a la visualización de los autos a competir y así no estar en un lapso diverso, cómo existe hoy en día que los vehículos pareces blancos y todos iguales u similares.
Destacando que esta normativa la tendremos oficializada a más tardar antes de termino del 2014.
Las conversaciones y discusiones de la regulación WRC 2017 a fondo se van a establecer en Ginebra en algunos meses, compartiendo estas charlas con los miembros de los fabricantes actuales que origina hoy en día, el CMR.
Por último, por lo que se ve, se quiere cambiar el rumbo para ver si se puede mejorar el espectáculo, atraer a nuevos constructores y más público a los rallies.
Lo concreto que si se oficializa el mismo, la mente de Volkswagen sería la sustitución del Polo por el Passat y Toyota encontraría su homologación hibrída con su nuevo Camry , que TMG desde Japón la pondrá en escena a partir del 2016.

El segmento D es un segmento de automóviles que se ubica entre los segmentos C y E. Generalmente tienen espacio para cinco adultos, o para siete u ocho adultos en el caso de los monovolúmenes.

Actualmente estos automóviles miden aproximadamente entre 4,50 m y 4,85 m de largo, sea en carrocería liftback, sedán, familiar o monovolumen. Los modelos más económicos suelen ser más largos, mientras que los más costosos suelen ser más cortos, tener un voladizo delantero y batalla más grandes. Los motores van en el primer caso desde cuatro cilindros de 1.6 litros de cilindrada hasta seis cilindros de 3.0 litros, y en el segundo hasta ocho cilindros de 6.2 litros como el Mercedes Benz C63 AMG.

Dentro del segmento D hay varios subsegmentos que corresponden a los tipos de automóvil. Un automóvil de turismo del segmento D se suele denominar «automóvil mediano» o «mediano grande»; un automóvil todoterreno de este tamaño se llama «todoterreno mediano»; y un monovolumen del segmento es un «monovolumen grande».

NOBRE’S OPEN-BOOT POLICY IN THE ERC

Paulo Nobre completed stage five of Rally di Roma Capitale with his car boot open.

The FIA European Rally Championship regular from Brazilian explained that he forgot to close it properly prior to the run.

“I took out the [safety] helmets and forgot to close the boot so I make one special stage with the boot open so it was the opposite to Poland [when it was the bonnet that was open].”

THE ALL-NEW FORD FIESTA R5

M-Sport and Ford are proud to introduce the all-new EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta R5. Replacing its hugely successful predecessor, the new Fiesta promotes the latest motorsport technology and road-going design.

Based on the Ford Fiesta ST-Line which is manufactured at Ford’s world-class facility in Cologne, M‑Sport has worked closely with the Ford Motor Company to ensure the new Fiesta R5 provides a big step forward in terms of pace and performance.

The original Fiesta R5 is M-Sport’s most successful global rally car and continues to win stages, rallies and championships worldwide. With more than 250 cars in competition, the outgoing Fiesta remains a capable and competitive winner, but its successor boasts improvements in all areas.

The 1.6 turbo charged engine delivers 290 BHP and 475 Nm of torque at 4,000 RPM. The direct injection power plant is also fitted with a 32mm restrictor in conjunction with R5 regulations and provides a significant improvement in response and drivability

Brand-new suspension components include front and rear McPherson struts with redesigned three‑way adjustable dampers from Reiger. The new aluminium damper bodies save considerable weight, and the geometry has been remodelled for optimised traction and stability.

A newly designed Sadev five-speed sequential gearbox mated to front and rear differential units is accompanied by hydraulic servo-assisted rack and pinion steering, and Brembo forged four-piston front and rear calipers provide the stopping power.

The initial design and development started in January 2018, with the first test session taking place in December that same year. Since then, eight test drivers have completed more than 30 days testing on a mix of different roads and conditions.

Smooth Tarmac, rough Tarmac, hot gravel, loose gravel, seasoned test drivers, rally winners, and even Formula One race winners – the latest Fiesta has been put through its paces and no stone has been left unturned in search of optimum speed, reliability and performance.

The project also upholds M-Sport’s support of young talent with 28-year-old Bernardo Fernandes – who engineered Sébastien Ogier to championship success in 2017 – leading the team.

Delving into his knowledge of the award-winning Ford Fiesta WRC, as well as the original Fiesta R5, Fernandes’ experience has been combined with the innovation of youth – his team creating one of M-Sport’s most long-awaiting and exciting creations.

Just like its predecessor, the all-new Fiesta R5 will get its first public outing at next month’s Ypres Rally – Éric Camilli taking to the wheel as the event’s VIP car. As one of the most experienced development drivers around, Camilli knows the car inside out and the event’s fast asphalt roads provide the perfect setting for the car’s debut performance.
