1: First 100% tarmac event of the World Rally Championship 2018, the CORSICA linea – Tour de Corse will see Sébastien Ogier, winner of the event in 2016, take the start as the leader of the overall standings. With a gap of four points between the five-time World Champion and Thierry Neuville, a new French-Belgian duel seems to emerge this season. Winner in Corsica last year, the Hyundai’s driver will be one the favorite as much as Sébastien Loeb, four-time winner on Corsican roads.

10: Ten years after his last success in Corsica, Sébastien Loeb will make his return in the Tour de Corse with Daniel Elena on his right side. With the Citroën C3 WRC, the nine-time World Champion, winner of Tour de Corse in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, is about to cross swords with his former teammate Sébastien Ogier for a 14-star duel that should be epic.

12: As the number of stages, two more than in 2017, that make up the CORSICA linea – Tour de Corse’s route. While endurance and diversity will be the main themes of the event, the 92 crews registered will face a stage organized in the Cap Corse for the first time since 1995!

55.17: As the length of SS11 Vero – Sarrola-Carcopino, the longest stage of the Tour de Corse since 1986! Ran on Sunday as the penultimate against-the-clock section, this marathon could upset the rankings a few hours before the podium ceremonial.

60%: As the ratio of the route revamped this year compared to the last edition. For the first time since 1995 one of the 12 special stages on the programme is taking place in the heart of Cap Corse so the cars skirt the Corsican coast and then plunge downhill to the Ile Rousse. Most of the route has been modified in number of kilometres (338,48 timed km: a 5% increase in the special stages compared to 2017) and with the addition of new special stages: only two of them are still run over their original layout.
