FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP (WRC 2016): M-SPORT WORLD RALLY TEAM – MIDDAY QUOTES RALLYE MONTE-CARLO, SECTION TWO

WRC A FULL 2016

MIDDAY QUOTES
RALLYE MONTE-CARLO, SECTION TWO.

Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Jonas Andersson - Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Day two, 2012 Rally Mexico

22 January 2016

Mads Østberg (6th) said:

“It’s been a good morning. We are taking things quite steadily which I think is the right thing to do at this point and we are not that far away from the guys in front. We are pretty much where we expected to be and we are just taking everything step by step.

“There are a lot of new things for us to get used to and we are definitely doing it the hard way on what is one of the most challenging events of the year! But we’re getting more and more comfortable in the car – and more and more confident with each new stage.”

Éric Camilli (8th) said:

“I’m very happy with my times this morning – it was a good surprise as I didn’t know at the end of the stage how they would be. The partnership with Nicolas, the car, the tyres, the gravel crew, everything is working well. Last night gave us an opportunity to discover the level of the WRC, and now we’re learning more and more with each new stage.

“I admit that I haven’t slept so well over the past couple of nights! Maybe there was a little pressure because I didn’t want to make a mistake last night – I really wanted to see Gap – so now we can focus on doing the best job that we can.”

Elfyn Evans (1st WRC 2) said:

“As is always the case with Rallye Monte-Carlo, the conditions aren’t easy, but we are having a lot of fun out there. There’s a long way to go, but so far everything seems to be working really well. Craig and I are working well together, the gravel crew has been great as always, and this car really is fantastic – a huge leap forward from the car I was driving back in 2013.”
