Positive summary after seventh place in Argentina.

After strong fights in the Grand Prix of Argentina Sandro Cortese took seventh place and nine points. Two intense weeks in the US and South America are over. In early May the World Championship continues in Europe at Jerez in Spain with the fourth race.
The Dynavolt Intact GP team can draw a positive conclusion from the weekend in Termas de Rio Hondo. The Moto2 crew of Sandro Cortese made significant progress with their set-up work since the last race in Austin/Texas and reduced the gap to the top.
Sandro started the race Sunday with a good feeling and finished the warm-up in the morning in third place. As the lights went off for the Grand Prix of Argentina, the 25-year-old made one of his best starts so far in the middle class. In the first lap he jumped from the third row to the front and was temporarily in second and even first position. Some laps he was able to stay in touch with the top guys. Zarco expanded his lead, while Sandro was fighting for fifth place in the group with (Franco) Morbidelli, (Tom) Lüthi and (Lorenzo) Baldassarri.
Finally, Sandro Cortese crossed the finish line in seventh behind Lüthi and Morbidelli: “We are still missing a few tenths to the top, to be quite honest. We have made a giant leap from last week. Today I have been fighting with Tom and Morbidelli, who last week were far away. I’m very satisfied with my first two laps. In the first lap I was first at times. We have worked hard for that. The fifth place would have been realistic today. We must build on and show in Jerez that we can be better and not lose the connection to the top so quickly.”
“Sandro showed here his best ever first two or three laps. This has always been a problem,” summarized team director Jürgen Lingg: “I think he had some good fights in the race. I am happy. If he keeps this up, then we are on the right track!”
In the championship standings Sandro climbed up to tenth place, level on points (20) with Xavier Simeon and Hafizh Syahrin. Tomorrow the Kalex rider, his team and equipment will start the long journey back to Europe, where the Spanish Grand Prix will be held from 01 to 03 May in Jerez de la Frontera
