TGS TEAM AT AUSTRIA’S LAVANTTAL RALLY WITH THIS YEAR BIRYUKOV’S DEBUT.
April 10th, 2015
After a 2014 season with good stages, the Russian competitive couple of Dmitry Biryukov and Evgeny Kalachev is back to rallying this weekend at the traditional Lavanttal Rally of Austria. They will compete in the Finnish structure run by Flying Finn, Toni Gardemeister, TGS Team established in Estonia, with the usual SKODA Fabia Super 2000.
This Austrian rally with epicenter in Wolfsberg – while central service park is in Kleinedling – will have 12 special stages in two legs divided between next Friday 10th and Saturday 11th. Each leg will have a length of 176.34 km in the speed stretches offering a total paved route of 385.40 km.
It should be noted that Biryukov will use number 29 in his car sides and will continue with his learning plan in this demanding European event. With his sights on the new evolution from the Czech maker, the recently FIA authorized Fabia R 5, expecting its presentation in Mlada Boleslav factory next April 15th.
Only then, we would see in-depth SKODA sports plans, which – according to Toni and his work team – intent to have in the mid-term a new generation unit to compete in the European good level events.
For the moment, 2015 opening for Biryukov and TGS Team / ProMedia Rally Team is in the Austrian roads, with many turns and slippery soil fitting well for Dmitry to find the ideal setup in every stretch; opting to advanced records and looking to reach the forefront places.
Toni Gardemeister explains his feelings about Biryukov’s début this year:
“We are very happy to continue with the team, with both Dmitry and Evgeny, continuing the learning process in each rally to get favorable results with Fabia S2000”.
