The new promise coming from Scandinavia, Teemu Suninen – who competes on the team ran by ‘Flying Finn’ Toni Gardemeister – talks about his good performance in Rally SM 2015 with ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 by TGS Team. And, his dream of becoming WRC world champion one day, and enter the history of the ‘Flying Finns’ champions, like Tommi Mäkinen, Juha Kankkunen, Marcus Grönholm, Ari Vatanen and Markku Alen …

What does it mean to be in TGS Team together with Toni? A great joy and challenge to grow in my sporting career.

Does Toni give you tips to further advance your driving on rally car? Most important thing is pace notes and driving on different corners, I have to drive fast corners really smoothly and slow corners more aggressive.

Tell us a balance about your début for ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 in Mikkeli? It was really good, the main goal was finishing the rally, and I did it, by driving I learn new things and that’s faster way to learn when I drive every kilometre in Rally.

Was very important to your good performance incorporating Mikko Markkula in navigation? Of course, he was a part of the good result. He has a huge experience and done good work with a new driver, so he knows where I need to keep the focus on.

Does the podium Mikkeli motivate you much as to continue your professional development in sports? And, will interest renowned Finnish-speaking manager Timo Jouhki in your sports campaign from now on? What can you tell us about this? That is good.

Rally Seinäjoki has been very positive with a win, are you waiting for the future with TGS Team? Yes, it was really a positive thing. I trust myself a lot more and now I know I did some good work with 4WD. TGS for sure it’s a good team to learn driving 4WD because they have experience and they really can tell how to drive rally cars.

What’s the next step in the European competition? I don’t know.
Would you like to get the opportunity to try the new ŠKODA Fabia R5? Of course, I want to test the car. I heard it has been fast, but I really want to feel it (test it).

Did you get a chance to try the Fiesta WRC and Yaris WRC? What feelings do you have of these recent tests? No, I didn’t drive with WRC Fiesta, it would be an awesome experience. That’s really something I want to drive in the future.

What’s your priority? And, do you dream to run in the World Rally Championship? NO, it’s the win World Rally Championship.

Finally, any brief mention of ŠKODA S2000’s execution in these two winter rallies in Finland? And, do you like Rally Argentina valid for the WRC? It would be nice to be in Argentina, but let’s see what I have then.
