FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP (WRC2) 2015: MINI EUROLAMP WRT- RALLY MEXICO-WE STARTED WITH THE PIRELLI FACTORY
WRC2 A FULL 2015
Rally Mexico. We started with the Pirelli factory.
Arriving to Mexico, the Eurolamp WRT crew decided to use the time that remains before the thursday morning shakedown as best as possible.
As a result, the beginning of the Mexican week for Ukrainian team was very busy. On Monday, at the invitation of the organizers of the Rally Mexico Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia along with several members of the team visited the Pirelli factory at Silao, municipality of Leon, state of Guanajuato. It should be noted that the company was opened in 2012. A year later, the factory produced millionth tire, and now its year capacity reached the mark of 3 million units.
Given the fact that the Eurolamp WRT crews use the Italian brand tires during races, and that team is the official dealer of Pirelli sports product line in Ukraine, this tour was not only informative, but also useful.
Valery Gorban, Eurolamp WRT driver:
“During our visit to the Pirelli factory we could see all production processes, the modern equipment, the latest technology, we could learn the newest developments which the company pay a lot of attention for. What I saw really amazing! And especially – approach to control the quality of products. Seeing so high level production, manufacturability, I have been filled with pride in the fact that our team, supplying sports products of Pirelli to Ukrainian consumer, is however small, but part of the brand.”
The visit to the Pirelli plant before the start of Rally Mexico looks rather symbolic, as tires during the race will play a key role. For three full days of combat the crew will have 22 sets of hard compound tires. Under extremely hard gravel and high temperature, result will depend very much on condition of the tires and its wear…
